The International AIDS Candelight Memorial 2018

This video, below, contains edited footage of Mother Gretta's speech delivered by Mother Freda from the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2018 held in Perth Western Australia at the WA AIDS Memorial.

The International AIDS Candlelight Vigil began in 1983 and has grown to become an annual World Wide Event which is described in the following way at

The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial is much more than just a memorial. The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial serves as a community mobilization campaign to raise social consciousness about HIV and AIDS. With 33 million people living with HIV today, the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial serves as an important intervention for global solidarity, breaking down barriers of stigma and discrimination, and giving hope to new generations.

The Candlelight Vigil is a Co-Ordinated World Wide Event that remembers the millions of lives that have been lost as a result of HIV/AIDS and in Perth the Community has agreed many times that this Event is supposed to be a safe inclusive space for ALL people to come together to light a candle and remember, without sectarian bias and political ideological agendas being rammed down throats of attendees.

It was just sad to arrive and the first thing that was heard were petty complaints, whinges and negativity from the Funded AIDS Organisions about "what a "burden" it is to arrange the Event. Worse, as has HAPANed before The "Organisers" clearly looked like they'd just had a huge fight as they seemed to be clearly not talking to each other - until the Sister's cameras arrived and "they" realised "they" needed to behave properly in public!

It is disappointing that it would appear that the The WA AIDS Council ( #WAAC ) is deliberately sabotaging and running down the Event, and destroying it's unifying strengths, so they can have an excuse not to run it in the future. This is demonstrated by the fact that WAAC could not find a staff member who could deliver the AIDS Memorial Quilt to the venue for the handover ceremony, even though it was a fine sunny day they blamed the threat of rain. Really this was not good enough and was a slap in the face to the whole Positive Community.

In spite of #StyleAID being touted in the media as raising funds to support positive people, the reason given for not having a cheap coffee van was that it was too expensive It's just sad that people arrived to speak about the importance of the Quilt and see it for the last time only to hear the AIDS Industry could not be bothered arranging someone to bring the focal point of the evening!!

Well we heard the Academy! #TimesUP Serious Questions need to be asked as to whether invitations to the event were even sent out to the Community and in the light of the fact that it would appear that only 0.005% of HIV+ people in WA access services from the AIDS Industry and rates of HIV /STIs are growing at record high levels, if the WA Government is to be taken seriously as responsible managers of the State Finances, then someone in #MarkMacGowan's Cabinet needs to seriously evaluate the mismanagement and waste of money that is the AIDS Industry in WA!

At a time when the World is shaking it's head at Catholic Rome's continuing "gay bashing", while it Coverups Pedophilic Priests including their links to satanism and child trafficking, AND at a ceremony that remembers the genocide of millions of lives around the World who died because of the Catholic Church's "ban on condoms", it was grossly offensive that People directly linked to the Victims of Cardinal Pell were forced to listen to Roman Catholic Hymns, which were the only religious music played during the Ceremony.

The take home message? They just don't care!
